SYRACUSE – Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011, due to a broken heart. She was born December 24, 1935 in Gunnison, Utah to Lowell and Sarah Christensen.
She was a member of the LDS Church and the Syracuse 2nd Ward. Afton always enjoyed being with family members, going to parades, going to lunch and window shopping.
Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl (Ron) Kirkman, son, Ken (Rhonda) Bales, one sister, three brothers, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
