The daughter of the late John Calvin and Ella Belle Bible Alder, she was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Knoxville and their Faith Seekers Sunday School class. A member of the Sweetens Cove Home Demonstration Club, she was an avid quilt top maker and was still quilting well into her 80s. She was preceded in death by brothers, John Bible Alder, George Willis Alder; sisters, Louise Alder Ray and Daisy Lee Alder Garner.
She is survived by her devoted niece, Kay Dager of Loudon, TN; nephews, George W. Alder and John C. Alder both of South Pittsburg, John B. Ray of Chattanooga, and Evan Ray of Ooltewah; niece, Jean R. Kirkland of Birmingham, AL; and special cousin, Donna Willis of Winchester, TN.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm CDT on Thursday, February 28, 2008, at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery.
