Married to Kathryn Youngs in Kinney, PA, who predeceased him. A longtime participant in the Potter County Senior Games, he won 47 ribbons. In 1989 he won the rolling pin throwing contest at the Senior Games event in Bradford, PA. He enjoyed dancing and country music.
