William Virgil Symmonds was the 2nd son of James Franklin Symmonds and Minnie Laura Courtois. He married Imogene Knight January 30, 1923. To them were born 12 children. Two of the 12, Gary Leon and Marilyn, were stillborn. The youngest, Perry Lee, was a twin to Jerry and died shortly after birth. The remaining children were Laura Bernice, Merle Vanetta, Hazel Louise, James Buren, William Virgil Jr., Mary Elizabeth, Ruth Camille, Julia Ann, and Jerry Lynn. He and Imogene divorced about 1970. He married Helen Apple Symmonds September of 1972. To them was born 1 son, Scott.
