Betty Alice Taylor was born Dec. 24, 1903 in Holly Springs, Iowa. In 1904 her father Edwin Thomas traded their 80 acre farm for one containing 300 acres about fifteen miles northwest of Sioux City, Plymouth Co. Iowa. In the spring of 1905 the family moved by team and wagon the sixty miles from Holy Springs to the new farm. The house was old and had only two rooms on the first floor and three small sleeping rooms on the second floor. Owen Lloyd was born in this house on Jan 2, 1907, that summer they built a new 24X26 house with two stories. Nathaniel Franklin was born here on Aug. 12 1909. Ruth Florell was born here on Sept. 22, 1911, Paul Kenneth born on Aug. 16, 1914 and Clarence Vinton on Sept. 21, 1916.

The family move to Fallen Co. (later renamed Carter Co.) Montana in the spring of 1917. Edwin Thomas Taylor, Mable Rosalie, May Violet, and Edwin Aurelius all took homestead in Fallen Co. with her family.

On Nov. 7, 1917 Edwin Thomas and Myrtle Leora's daughter May Violet married John Paul Helm of Hinton, Iowa. They returned to Hinton where they made their home on the farm that Edwin Thomas had homsteaded in 1866.

Betty Alice returned to Iowa with her parents in 1920 to attend high school and after graduation in 1924 she attended teachers college for about 6 weeks and taught school the following year. She then went back to Carter Co. Montana where she taught school and also attended Billings College for about a year or two then married Rudoplh Edward Banderob May 28, 1930. They had three childre, Bernadine Lea, Arvin Hugh, and Rudolph Edward. Betty Alice died Oct. 19 1960 and is buried in Sunset Memorial Gradens Cemetery, Billings Montana.
