Ophelia Blackwell had fair skin, blue eyes and black hair. She was a devout Christian young lady with a sweet disposition, whom her sister, Lula, described as "a wonderful person, well thought of by her neighbours and family." She was the daughter of Stephen Monroe Conerly and Margaret Wilma "Sweetie" (Magee) Conerly. On the 13th of February, 1907 in Marion County she married Ezell Blackwell, of whom it is said, that he was never the same after the death of Ophelia whom he loved so. Ezell and Ophelia Blackwell had two daughters: Olvie & Alva "Alvie" and two sons who both died in their infancy: Columbus Felder & Kenneth Lentford. Her daughters retained fond and loving memories of their beloved mother whom they lost in their childhood.
