In 1936, William's nephew James Lee Knighton, who was married to Bessie, died
and by 1940, Bessie is listed as remarried to William*.
In William's obit, his first wife Dora is listed (as are their children)... and then Bessie is listed as his wife and her children are listed as his too (although today they'd probably be called step-children). I think this shows, hopefully, how two grieving families can become one. See Bessie's page, to see the other members of this household.
