H. Bob Musser, Jr., 71, passed away at home on November 15, 2011 from leukemia.

A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 at Red Rock Christian Church located at 1124 Roosevelt, Boise, ID at 10:00 a.m. The service will be under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.

Bob was born January 29, 1940 to H.B. Musser, Sr. and Helen R. Musser in Nampa, Idaho. He grew up in Boise and attended elementary school at Jefferson Elementary and Franklin Elementary School, attending West Jr. High School and graduating from Boise High School in 1958.

Throughout high school Bob played saxophone in the Marching Band and the Jazz band. His love of jazz music continued even after he graduated. One of his favorite things to attend was high school reunions. He enjoyed renewing old acquaintances. He attended Boise Junior College for two years thinking he might be a history teacher, but decided to go in another direction.

Bob married Sandra Jane Compton on May 21, 1961; in their 25 years of marriage they were blessed with three children. They later divorced, but developed a friendship that bonded them together as parents.

Bob was a "furniture lumper" as he fondly called himself. He started in the moving and storage business at a young age and worked over 30 years in Boise for NorthAmerican Van Lines. In 1984, he moved to Kennewick, WA to work for NorthAmerican there and was later transferred to Seattle and worked for Mitchell Moving and Storage.

After another 20 years in the moving and storage business Bob decided retirement was the ticket and that he was ready to come "home" to Boise, however he was not ready to completely get out of the business and worked part-time as a packer for Merchant's Moving & Storage so that he could have a little "mad money".

Part of the attraction on coming home to Boise in addition to family and grandkids was Delsa Anne Smith, his soulmate and partner. They had been classmates since the age of 14 and reconnected at a Jr. High class reunion. For the past 12 years they have been a great team, and as was Bob's nature, he created and blended a unique family dynamic which included Delsa and her children and grandchildren with his own family. This past 12 years have been some of the best and happiest times in his life.

Bob had many hobbies, and was a master woodcrafter. He was precise in his work and loved to create.

He also enjoyed watching the car races out at Meridian Speedway. When his son-in-law started racing himself it was the cherry on his ice cream sundae and "Mad Dog Musser" was there to cheer him on and sponsor him. His family purchased a ride for him on Father's Day a couple of years ago, and he was able to fulfill a wish to catch a ride in the two-seater sprint car at Meridian Speedway. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, country and western and jazz music and could be depended on to be in the cheering section for his grandson's band competitions and his granddaughter's basketball games.

Upon his return to Boise, he became involved with Delsa's church, Red Rock Christian Church. The funny thing was he attended the same church as a young child, so it was another homecoming of sorts. He became involved in being an active church member, participating in and creating at the church with his church family, and his love of the Lord.

Bob is survived by his three children, Camille A. (Rick) Baldwin, of Middleton, Nicholas Lucky (Erin) Musser, of Seattle, WA and Hamilton Bryan (Allison) Musser, of Los Fresnos, TX; grandchildren: Cody Baldwin, Shelby Baldwin, Madison Musser, Isaiah Musser, Xander Musser and his newest grandchild who he got to meet before his passing, Rachel Musser; his sister, Patty (Greg) Vroman, of Reno, NV; and his loving partner and soul mate, Delsa Anne Smith, of Boise, and her wonderful family who fondly referred to him as "Bobby".

Bob's family would like to thank the hospital and staff at MSTI and St. Lukes Hospital who gave him such wonderful care over the course of his illness, Dr. Paul Montgomery was also so kind and did all he could do for us as well as St. Lukes Hospice and the nurses with TLC Healthcare for allowing him to spend his last days at home.

Memorials may be made in Bob's name to MSTI Foundation Board.
