ERNA McCAULEY
Erna McCauley, 89, of Hillsboro died Thursday, July 11, at a local hospital. She was born November 14, 1912 in Penelope, daughter of Henry and Malinda Schulze Reue, where she was raised. She had lived in Hill County most of her life and in Hillsboro since the mid-1960s. She was a teacher, retiring in 1976, and was a member of Line Street United Methodist Church of Hillsboro. She married Thurman McCauley September 29, 1937 in the Midway community, and he preceded her in death February 13, 2001. She was also preceded in death by one son, Don McCauley, in 1993. Survivors include: two daughters, Carol Ann McCauley of Austin and Bertha Murrell and husband, Rob, of Granbury; one daughter-in-law, Paula McCauley of Mesquite; one sister, Alice Boyse of Mesquite; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Cathy L. Bourgoin officiating. Burial was at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to Line Street United Methodist Church, 304 Line Street, Hillsboro 76645.
