Mrs. Louie Beebout, 88, of Knoxville passed away Friday afternoon at Collins Hospital where she had been a patient since January 14. She had been in failing health for several months and was a patient at the Griffin Nursing Center prior to being admitted to the hospital.

She was born on November 1, 1885 in Marion County the daughter of John D. and Arvilla Priaulx Smith. She was united in marriage to John Beebout and the couple made their home on a farm 7 miles S. E. of Knoxville. In 1906, the moved to the Columbia area and resided there until 1919 at which time they moved to a farm near Dallas. The family moved to Knoxville in 1923 and she had made her home here ever since.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Knoxville.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband John in 1957, three children Hattie in infancy, Forrest in 1929, James in October of 1958, and two sisters Mrs. Irene Harsin and Mrs. Alta Harvey.

Left are two daughters Mrs. Laura Craven and Miss Virginia Beebout of Knoxville, three sons Frank O. Beebout of Wayne, Pa., Glen A. Beebout of Lakeport, California, Rev. John L. Beebout of Odgen, Iowa, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, her sister, Mrs. Alma King of Des Moines.
