Lloyd Arley Cross was the red haired, blue eyed son of Edward Ulysus Cross 1867-1938 and Georgia Annette Currier 1864-1925. He was married on 7 Mar 1914 in Mitchell, Davison County, South Dakota to Minnie Lorraine Lamb 1896-1967.

Shortly after getting married they had a son Ellis Milton Cross 1915-1977. It wasn't long before Thelma Verle Cross 1917-1991 was born. Then Lloyd entered World War I. When Lloyd came back from the war he continued farming. Soon little Nellie Fern Cross was born in 1919 but the Lord called her home a year later.

Lloyd and Lorraine continued to raise a large family on their farm in South Dakota.

They had a total of 12 children:
