Mrs. Lucille B. Winter, 80, passed away on November 12, 2011 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 29, 1931 in Dorchester, Georgia to Jerusha and John Crawford Braxton.

Lucille was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Reba Braxton, Maudree Clark, Dorothy Blanton, Julie Gill, Mildred Reeves and brother, Clifton Braxton. She leaves behind her loving husband of 60 years, George B. Winter; 5 children, George (Mary) Winter, Ceil (Mike) Brooks, John Winter, David (Abby) Winter and Alex (Laura) Winter; 7 wonderful grandchildren, Larah (Coty) Sifuentes-Winter, Erin (Jay) Harrelson, Lauren (Brian) Imhulse, Michael (Megan) Brooks, Caitlin Winter, Brendan & Kelly Winter, Cynthia & Joshua Bopp; 2 beautiful great-grandchildren, Aerowyn & Taven Sifuentes-Winter; sisters, Norine Clifton, Helen Overfelt, Sara Padgett, Patricia Brewer; and brothers, John & Joe Braxton, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Lucille worked for Barnett Bank/BOA for over 20 years. She served as a volunteer at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was an active member in the Arlington Newcomers Club. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, traveling and especially her family and her most cherished granddaughter, Caitlin. Lucille was a devoted wife, loving mother and friend to all. She will be forever in our hearts, loved and missed dearly.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Anand as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lucilles name to Womens Help Center 4209 University Blvd. S., Jacksonville, FL 32216 or Catholic Charities 134 E Church St., Jacksonville, FL 32202. The inurnment will be held at 10 AM Monday, November 21st at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Arrangements by Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd.
