Neva C. Jordan, 85, of Stonewood, died Sunday afternoon, June 5, 2005, at her residence under the care of People's Hospice. She was born on September 20, 1919, on Missouri Run, Erbacon, Webster County, a daughter of the late Noah R. and Sabina (Jackson) Barnett.
She is survived by her husband, William T. Jordan, whom she married April 3, 1976. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Noble Weese.
Also surviving are two brothers and a sister-in-law, Parker and Kathleen Barnett, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Wilford Barnett, of Cowen; and several nieces and nephew.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Guy, Clyde, Bradford, Blaine, and an infant brother; and three sisters, Goldie Daugherty; Eula Hoig, and Arlice Rose.
Neva had owned Weese's Grocery, worked at the Weston State Hospital, and was a cook at various restaurants around Weston. She had also been a caregiver for the elderly and was a seamstress at Fine's. She enjoyed crocheting, and loved to can, cook, and garden, especially with her flowers. She was Methodist by faith.
Friends may call at the Gemondo Funeral Home, Nutter Fort, on Wednesday from 4-9 p.m., where services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ron Hill presiding. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
