Hula B. Tunks, daughter of Charles and Millie Louthan, was born on October 13, 1889, at Coffeyville and died at Republic County hospital, Belleville, on Jan. 27, 1973 after a short illness at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 14 days.

She spent her early life and schooling near Hubbell, Nebr. She was united in marriage to Lon Tunks on March 26, 1907, and to this union six children were born. They lived on a farm near Haddam, until the death of her husband in 1965 and then she moved to her trailer home at the home of her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four children, one sister and two brothers.

She is survived by one son, Roy and wife, Linnea of Agenda, one daughter, Mabel Anderson and husband, Lloyd of Clyde, one daughter-in-law, Velma Tunks of Central City, Nebr., seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Mulch of Belleville, Mrs. Bertha Bowland of Santa Ana, Calif.

Funeral services were held Monday, January 29, at the United Methodist Church of Haddam conducted by the Reverend Alan Hill. Interment was in Hawks cemetery.
