She worked as a cook at Mickey's Diner for 30 years, where she was known for her pies. She was a volunteer at the Pines in Machias and for Meals on Wheels in Delevan.
She is survived by 7 children, Gene Stangl, Ralph (Barbara) Stangl, Roy "Joe" (Joyce) Stangl, Gretchen (Richard) Fahy, Ruth (Ceylon) Kessler, Kathryn Jones and Barbara (Edmund) Beck; a sister, Mary Arnold; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Grace Eliza Sly, Douglas Charles Sly, John James Sly and Ralph Potter Sly.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Stangl was predeceased by a son, John, who died in 1955; and a daughter-in-law, Betty Stangl, who died Aug. 17, 2003.
