Jeffrey David Sundberg, 53, of Longview died Aug. 29, 2008, at the Hospice Care Center.

He was born Dec. 29, 1954, to Alan and Genie (LaFleur) Sundberg and was a lifelong local resident. He graduated with the Mark Morris High School Class of 1973.

Mr. Sundberg was a fork lift operator for Exetor Lumber and a janitor prior to retiring due to disability. He was a member of Lower Columbia Retirees Association, Quarter Midget Racing and the Longview Boxing Club. He enjoyed all sports, attending games and watching on T.V. It was his life. Mr. Sundberg refereed basketball, football and umpired baseball games. He was people oriented and had many friends. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, Alexa, Jack and Madison.

His first marriage to Joyce Jallo ended in divorce. On Oct. 13, 1994, he married Theresa Wallace in Walla Walla, Wash. She survives him at home. Also surviving are his mother, Genie Dillin of Portland; three brothers, Steve Sundberg and Pat Sundberg, both of Longview and Joe (Rebecca) Sundberg of Portland; two sisters, Lori Woods and Lesa (Jim) Newt, both of Longview; his grandmother, Clara Sundberg of Longview; three grandchildren, Alexa Marston, Madison Forsberg and Jack Verhei; three nieces, Beth Sundberg, Krista (Scott) Coleman and Sophia Sundberg; four nephews, Ben Sweet, Sam Sweet, Jake Woods and Max Woods; a great-nephew, Riley Coleman; his stepparents, Lorraine and Dick Powell; three stepchildren, Jenny (Bill) Forsberg, Danielle (Rich) Johnston and Mike (Staci) Verhei; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Marsh; his father, Alan Sundberg; and his grandfather, Clarence Sundberg.

A celebration of Mr. Sundberg's life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Calvary Community Church. The Rev. Dan Nordstrom and Assistant Pastor Joe Coy will officiate.
