Mary Jane Krause, age 80, of Spicewood died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 18, 2007.

She was born August 5, 1926 in Meridian, Texas to Robert and Alma T. Butler.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Elizabeth Pavilik and her brothers James H. Butler and Robert V. Butler.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 57 years Elton H. Krause; her beloved twin sister Martha Jean Butler of Austin; her sister-in-law Marilyn Butler of Austin; sister-in-law, Juanita Krause of Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Jim Hudson of Austin and her three sons, Hugh Krause and wife Teresa of Austin, David Krause and Debbie Townsend of Round Rock, Terry Krause and wife Joanne of Horseshoe Bay. Jane was an adoring grandmother to her grandchildren: Derrick Krause, Brooke DeBord and husband K.B., Chad Krause, Jennifer Krause, Gabriella Krause; great granddaughter Peyton DeBord, and a future grandson due in June.

Jane and Elton are members of the First Baptist Church in Marble Falls, Texas.

Together in 1955, Jane and Elton established Krause Springs. Host to thousands of guests each year, the Springs is a popular camping, swimming and picnicking location in Spicewood and will soon celebrate its 52nd anniversary.

The family will be receiving relatives and friends this Saturday, April 21, 2007 from 1-2 pm at Harrell Funeral Home in Austin, TX with a formal service commencing at 2pm. Burial proceedings will follow at Forrest Oaks Memorial Park in Austin.
