Death of S. D. Plunkett. On Friday night of last week Mr. S. D. Plunkett was brought down from the telephone camp at Wagon Wheel Gap, suffering from a severe attack of Pneumonia. On Monday and Tuesday he was much better, but on Wednesday, he commenced to fail, and although there was consultation of doctors, they could not stimulate the heart action, and shortly after noon on Tuesday he passed away without a struggle, having been unconscious since Wednesday morning'
Stephen Douglas Plunkett was born in Schuyler County, Illinois on January 9, 1860. His boyhood days were passed in his native state, where he married. When he left home, he moved to Kansas, and from there to Del Norte, arriving here in 1892.
The deceased leaves, besides his widow, one son, six daughters, mother, three sisters and four brothers, his immediate family and one sister, Mrs. Fanny Wells, living in Del Norte, while his mother, brothers and sister live in Kansas.
The funeral will be held from his late residence this Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock.
