A resident of Norwood, she died on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at The Caring Place in Baker. She was born Dec. 20, 1921, in New Orleans and was 89 years of age. A graveside service was held at Tanner Family Cemetery, Norwood, on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the service. Beth is survived by her five daughters, Mary Beth Hey and husband Don, of Norwood, Katherine Davis and husband John, of Zachary, Louise Mason and husband Harold, of Charlotte, N.C., Amy Matheny and husband Donald, of Nairobi, Kenya and Leah Morgan and husband Douglas, of Norwood; one son, Greg and wife Susan, of Osyka, Miss.; 23 grandchildren and lots of precious great-grands with more on the way. Preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Edna Salathe; husband, Guy Gibson Tanner; granddaughter, Deidre Elizabeth Joiner King.
