Final rites for J.F. Offield, 83, were held Monday, January 4th, in the Cotulla Church of Christ with Bro. Travis Huddleston officiating. Interment was in the Cotulla Cemetery. He was born October 11, 1870. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Dollie Offield, four daughters, Mrs. Nora Tyler of Hearne; Mrs. J.R. Tyler of Cotulla; Mrs. C.B. Gilbert of Cameron and Elizabeth of Los Angeles; six sons, Gilbert of Rockdale; Burford of Cameron; Melvin of San Gabriel and John, Jimmie and Frankie of Los Angeles. One son, Oscar, preceded him in death in 1951. Also surviving are three brothers, Alfred, Tommy and Morgan Offield of Rockdale and one sister, Mrs. Tishie Hobbs of Austin and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
