James T. Carroll, retired police officer who for thirty-five years was connected with the station at 35th and Halsted sts., died at his home, 5707 (or 3707) Sangamon st., Sunday evening following a paralytic stroke. Mr. Carroll had been retired during the past six years. He was 69 years of age, and a member of Visitation Holy Name society, Nativity court No.11, C.O.F., and Policemen's Benevolent association.
He leaves seven sons and daughters,
Harry F.,
Laurence J.,
Cecelia,
Mrs. Patrick McGrath,
Mrs. James V. McCummiskey, with whom he had made his home the past seven years,
Mrs. Lawrence E. Owens,
and Mrs. James A. Wallace.
The funeral was held at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning from the residence to Visitation Church. Burial was at Mount Olivet cemetery.
