Funeral services for Ermil E. Gassaway will be 10:00 am Wednesday Nov. 23, 2011 at Green Country Funeral Home. Officiating will be Brother Leroy Watkins and Sister Dorothy Smith. Pallbearers will be James Earl Watkins, Glen Smith, Bruce Smith, Doug Smith and Michael Gritts. Interment will follow in the Hulbert City Cemetery. Ermil E. Gassaway was born December 20, 1926 in Cherokee County, Oklahoma near Tahlequah to John and Sally (Manus) Gassawy. She passed away on Saturday November 19, 2011 in Roland, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years 10 months and 29 days. Ermil worked hard at various jobs, to support her family and dearly loved children. This was evident in her employment as house mother at the United Methodist Children's Home at Tahlequah and later at the Charles Page Children's Home of Sand Springs. She also worked with children at a Head Start Program in Tahlequah. She was a protestant of the Holiness faith. Due to failing health she recently moved from her apartment in Stilwell to reside with her daughter. Funeral services will be held at 10 am at Green Country Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Hulbert I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
