John R. Blakley Jr. was born October 5, 1887 , the son of John T. and Martha Eve Fridley Blakley. He resided in the Pastures Township (Pond Gap & Craigsville Precincts) of Augusta County, Virginia. He was one of ten children: Elizabeth Harriet, Lena Margaret, Nettie Franklin, Cora Columbus, Bessie, Getrude May, Lottie Belle, Lettie Mamie and James William. On August 19, 1909 he married Bertie Cason and the wedding was listed in the Staunton News Leader. John died January 6, 1911 at the young age of 22 years. He was interred at the Estaline Presbyterian Chapel Cemetery.
