Gerald F. Berg, 91, Duluth, formerly of Cypress Drive died Oct. 20, 2006. He was born on Feb. 7, 1915 to Charles and Augusta (Dahlke) Berg. He worked as a mechanic at a service station prior to the war. During World War II he served with the Army in the South Pacific for 2 years. Gerald had worked as a mechanic for St. Louis County at the Court House Garage from 1957 until his retirement as foreman in 1980. He was a former member of First Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity and its XYZ Club, AFSCME Local 66, Senior Coalition, Minn. Senior Federation, life member of the Elks, over 50 year member of the American Legion and served on a National Committee to preserve Social Security and Medicare. Gerald is preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth; brothers, Alver, Carl A., Fred Roland, and Donald Berg; sisters Zelda House and Ingred Williams; and niece Sharon, Kuehn. He is survived by his wife, Lillian; sister, Sylvia Warner, Gallatin, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews. VISITATION:12 noon until the 1 p.m. Funeral Service Monday in Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, 27th Ave W. and 3rd St. Burial at Park Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home.
