His father James Clark was a carpenter born in China Maine and died when George was young. His mother was Mary Jane Page born in Fayette Maine. His wife's parents were from East Jackson Maine.

In 1870 he was residing with his widowed mother Mary and he was age 7 at the time. He was still in his mother's household in 1880 at age 15. By 1910 he was enumerated as head of the household running the poultry farm in his Corrinna and his mother was age 70 and with them was her brother Moses Page age 89.

In the 1920 census George's mother was now deceased and he is enumerated in the census as single, age 55 and in the household is Annie Thompson, housekeeper, idowed age 44. His occupation was boss weaver in the woolen mill. The census was taken January 29, however there is a marriage record for George R. and Annie Julia Thompson, daughter of William H. and Annie (Carlton) Cook on Jan 23, 1920 in Corinna Penobscot Maine. George was age 55 and it was his first marriage and the bride, born in Hampden Maine, was 44, and she had been widowed. His occupation was boss weaver at the time and both were residing in Corinna.

By 1930 he was now widowed age 64 and still residing in his hometown and was not working. He did not have children.

In the last census prior to his death he was age 76 and still living in the same house and enumerated as unable to work but has income other than earned. That census was taken in April and he died in May and it is unknown why he would have been buried in the cemetery in Eastport as his parents and siblings were buried in his hometown of Corinna and his wife in Bangor.

Note: I took over management of this memorial and filled in the bio based upon the parents already connected. I have not verified that the person described who was the son of James of Corinna Maine was the George buried in Hillside. I have not found a death record for the George who died in 1940 nor have I found a stone for this person.
