Randall Pickering
Randall L. Pickering, 73, of Unionville, died Sat., Dec. 18, 1982 at his home.
The son of John and Anna (Johnson) Pickering, he was born Apr. 20, 1909, in Putnam County.
On Dec. 24, 1929, in Unionville he married Edith Colton, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Colleen Putnam of Albia, Ia; one son Homer Lee Pickering of Unionville; four grandchildren, Michael Putnam, Rosalee McMain, Deena Perkins, and Lisa Pickering; five great-grandchildren, Chris, Scot, and Troy McMain, Brian and Brianne Perkins; and one sister, Gela Thomas of Unionville.
Those who preceded him in death were his parents; one son Donald Pickering; and two brothers, Leslie Pickering and Junior Pickering.
Mr. Pickering grew up in the Hartford, Mo., area. He farmed most of his life, and worked in the coal mines during the winter months. He retired in 1971 and moved to Queen City where they lived for three years. For the past eight years, he and Edith made their home in Unionville.
Interment was in the LonePine Cemetery, rural Putnam County.
