Conley, William Franklin (Bill), age 90 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at his home and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 19, 2011. He was born July 31, 1921 and was raised in Paintsville, Kentucky. Bill attended West Hills Baptist Church, he was a proud businessman, humble philanthropist of quiet faith and, most importantly, a great family man who will forever be loved. Bill served in the United States Navy during World War II, before returning to Whitesburg, Kentucky, where he founded two businesses, Electric Machine Company (ELMAC), then later, Pathfork-Harlan Coal Company. In 1961, Bill married Betty Jo Combs of Whitesburg, Kentucky and they moved to Knoxville, where they enjoyed fifty years with each other and with their loving family. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Betty, brother, Daniel Clifford Conley; sons, William Michael Conley, Ronald Lee Conley, Ronald Lynn Davison and Brian McNeil Conley; daughter, Cheri Conley Johnston; his loving grandchildren, Keith George, Ashley Gill, Todd Conley, Randy Conley, Vince Morgan, Brian Morgan, Christopher Davidson, James Davidson, Christy Rose, Matthew Weems, Joseph Johnston, Stephen Johnston, Sean Conley, Brian Christopher Conley, Celia Ernst, Lydia Ernst, Caylen Conley, Centaine Conley and William Michael Conley, II; Bill was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren and two on the way, as well as his caregiver and friend, Debbie Blair. Funeral service 1:00 PM Tuesday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Reverend Andrew (Drew) Prince officiating. Entombment to follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
