Mary Blackwell, of Cortez, went to be with the Lord on Christmas Day. Mary lost her battle with heart and kidney problems. She was 80 years old.
Born in Oklahoma City on August 4, 1930, Mary spent most of her life in California, where she married Robert Blackwell and raised 5 sons. Retiring from Bank of America after 31 years and living on a small farm in Lancaster, California, she moved to Cortez to be by her oldest son, Steve Blackwell.
Mary leaves behind her husband of 64 years; sons, Steve of Cortez, Glen of Pocatello, Idaho, Robin of Lancaster, California, and Russell also of Lancaster, California.
Son, Don passed away in 2002.
Bob wishes to thank all of Mary's church brothers and sisters and friends for their prayers during this long and trying time. Because of personal reasons, a memorial service will not be held.
Mary is in the care of Four Corners Funeral Chapel, Cortez.
