H. G. McClintock,Former County Auditor Dies

Lapel - Herschel G. McClintock, 76, a farmer of Rt 1, Lapel, and active member of the Republican Party, died Wednesday evening at St. John's Hospital in Anderson. He had been ill for 2 weeks. Mr. McClintock had served as Madison County auditor and also had been trustee of Stony Creek township for two terms. He was director of the State Bank at Lapel and of the Lapel Savings and Loan Company.

A resident of the Lapel area all his life, he was the son of Oliver and Leora McClintock. He was a member of the Methodist church, the IOOF Lodge, Active Encampment and Indianapolis Valley Scottish Rite.

Surviving are the widow, Pearl, a sister Mrs. Myrtle McDonald of Anderson and several nieces and nephews.

Masonic funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Fisher Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Marion King of the Lapel Methodist Church is in charge. Burial will be in the Brookside cemetery.

Friends are being received at the funeral home.
