He was a graduate of Western Carolina University and Piedmont Bible College. He served as principal of the Edgewood Christian School and was the minister of music and education at the Edgewood Baptist Church, Antioch Baptist Church, and Sprague Street Baptist Church. He also served as the State Commissioner of the NCCAA. He was an avid outdoorsman and an accomplished musician.
Surviving are his five children, David Raynor, Nan Dagenhardt, Kim Raynor, Memphis, TN, Tim "Ty" Raynor, and tina Hungerford; seven brothers and sisters, John Raynor, Roscoe Raynor, Edward Raynor of Atlanta, GA, Margie Wright, Lib Guthrie, Shelby Warwick, and Fran Gonda; five grandchildren, Clayton and Tyler Dagenhardt, Myriah Page, Beth Raynor, Deanna Raynor, and Christopher Hungerford, and great-grandson, Joseph Dagenhardt.
Funeral services were conducted at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, with Rev. Leroy Smith officiating. Burial followed at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville.
