John H Grube, 74, of Bethlehem, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, in Mary Ellen Convalescent Center in Hellertown. He worked in the Maintenance Department of the Bethlehem Housing Authority for more than 10 years before retiring in the mid-1980s. Prior to that he worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp. for many years.

Born Oct. 27, 1925, in Leithsville, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grube.

He served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War.

He and his wife, the former Martha Savitz, observed their 48th wedding anniversary in September.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Edward F. of Bethlehem, Edward J., with whom he lived in Bethlehem, and Henry O. of Northampton; three daughters, Pauline Kester of Kuhnsville, Barbara J. of Nazareth and Patricia Freins of Manitoba, Canada; a brother, Henry of Wilmington, Del.; and five grandchildren.

A brother, Robert, and a sister, Eva, died earlier.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem. Call 10 a.m. Monday to time of services in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery of Hellertown in
Hellertown.
