Winfred Shasteen, 83, of North Vernon passed away at 6:40 A.M. Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Jennings Healthcare Center.
Born June 1, 1928 in New Castle, KY Winfred was the son of Tommy and Virginia Blackaby Shasteen. He married Cylestia Banks on August 29, 1953. She preceded him in death on February 27, 2009.
Mr. Shasteen retired from Golden Castings in Columbus. He served eight years in the Indiana National Guard. He enjoyed motorcycle racing, boating, fishing, and gardening.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Fetter of Clarksville, and Debbie Roe of North Vernon; three sons, Dana Shasteen of Bloomington, Tom Shasteen of Brownstown, and Jon Shasteen of Seymour; eleven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, E.J. Shasteen.

Private services will be held at Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements were made in care of Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.
