Mary Ruth (Villines) Phillips, age 86, of Jasper, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17 (2011) at her home.

She was born Jan. 11, 1925, at Boxley, the daughter of Robert Hez Villines and Minerva "Minnie" Mae (Edgmon) Villines. She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of Newton County.

Survivors are three sons, Rodney Phillips, of Hermiston, Ore., Henry Phillips, of Batavia and Nelson Phillips, of Bergman; nine daughters, Mary Caroline Morgan, of Mt. Sherman, Bobbie Breedlove, of Parthenon, Diantha Breedlove, of Jasper, Cathy Breedlove, of Mt. Sherman, Betsy Braswell, of Harrison, Tammy Vanderwaal, of Parthenon, Jan Edgmon, of Mt. Sherman, Tonda Ervin, of Springdale and Ginger Holtby, of Harrison; 43 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Flora Villines, of Oklahoma and a brother-in-law, Roy Phillips, of Jasper.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at the Jasper First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Union Hill Cemetery at Parthenon. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.

Robert Hez Villines, 90, of Jasper, died October 20 at the Boone County Hospital in Harrison, Arkansas.

He was born July 4, 1886 at Boxley, son of James Larkin and Eliza Bradley Villines. Lifetime resident of Newton County, he was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Minnie Mae of the home; two sons Larkin and Neubern both of Tulsa, 0kla.; three daughters, Nell Flud and Mary, Ruth Phil­lips; both of Jasper and Georgia Burton of Independence Mo.; four brothers, Floyd of Clanada, California, Clyde of Boxley, Ralph, of Dayton, Ohio and For­rest of Santa Maria, California; three sisters, Grace Fults of Harrison, Lucy Scroggins Ponca and Blanche Scroggins of Boxley; 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held October 28 at Boxley Baptist Church with burial; in Jasper Cemetery.

Minnie Mae Villines, aged 89, of Jasper, died Saturday, September 8, 1979 in Jasper. She was born Sept 1, 1890, at Boxley, a daughter of Francis Marion and Talithia Tennessee Sparks Edgmon.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Lark and Neubern Villines both of Tulsa, Okla.; three daughters, Georgia Burton, Independence, Mo., Nell Flud and Mary Ruth Phillips, both of Jasper, a sister, Eliza Villines, Green Forest; 22 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Services were held Sept 11 in at the Jasper Baptist Church with David Stratton officiating. Burial was made in the Jasper Cemetery. Pallbearers were Henry Phillips, Robert Villines, Ronnie Villines, Robin Flud, Joe Burton, James Burton,
Nelson Phillips, and Jesse Burton.

Honorary pallbearers were Rodney Phillips and Marvin Lynn Villines.
