Peggy Jean Wirth, age 61, of Cameron, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, November 12, 2003, at her home surrounded by family after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. She was born on April 12, 1942, to Asa and Zena (Snow) Paine in the town of Woodmohr, Chippewa County, Wis.

She attended and graduated from Cameron High School in 1961. On June 5, 1963, she was married to Earl Emil Wirth in Chetek. They lived in the Cameron area, moving for a short time to River Falls and the Eau Claire area, but returned to Cameron in 1973, where she lived until her death.

Peggy was a beloved childcare provider for over 35 years and has been a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Cameron where she was active in the FLCW. She loved to crochet, knit and play cards and board games.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl, on February 4, 1987; son, Mark Wirth; and one brother, Robert John Paine.

She is survived by one daughter, Tamara (Stephen) Beaudry of Wayzata, Minn.; two sons, John Wirth of Austin, Texas, and Michael (Wendy) Wirth of Woodbury, Minn.; six grandchildren, Anthony and Bryan Good, Matthew, Katilyn and Adam Wirth and Marissa Hoffman; one great-granddaughter, Alexis Johnston-Good; seven sisters, Pat (Paul) Tomkowiak of Eau Claire, Rexetta (John) Halverson on Menomonie, Dorothy Cook of Almena, Susan (David) Bender of Rice Lake, Sherry (Jeffrey) Lindsey of Winfield, Mo., Rita (Harvey) Lange of Toney, Ala., Karen (Ed) Johnson of Marshall; seven brothers, Charles Sr. (Rhonda) Paine of Eau Claire, Malcolm (Kay) Paine and Richard (Julie) Paine of Cameron, Merle Dean Paine of Milwaukee, James (Evie Strassburg) Paine of Hayward, Donald Paine of Harker Heights, Texas, and Joseph Paine of Oconomowoc; sister-in-law, Lucille (Clarence) Frisle of Chetek; 43 nieces and nephews; numerous great- and great-great-nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Delwin Anderson of Chetek.
