Oscar F. Funk, residing on a ranch near Fisher, died early Tuesday morning from a stroke of paralysis. He had been ill but a short time.

The deceased had been a resident of this county since 1919, coming from Bayard, Nebraska. He was 73 years of age, having been born in Illinois in March, 1851.

Surviving him are his wife, Mary Funk, eleven children, and a number of grandchildren.

Information was obtained from his obituary in the Douglas Budget October 23, 1924; cemetery and mortuary records.

Oscar Funk Leaves Wife and Several Children.

Notice of the death of Oscar Funk has been received by friends in this city.

Mr. Funk, a former resident of this community, had lived for a number of years in Orin Junction, Wyoming, but he will be remembered by many residents of this city (Barry, Illinois) and vicinity.

Oscar Funk was born in Illinois, on March 23, 1851. He joined the Baptist church when a young man sixteen years old and was a true Christian to the last.

He was married to Alice Catherine McClain in the year of 1871 and to this union, eight children were born, namely, Bert of Ashland, Nebraska; John of Merna, Nebraska; Chesley of Duvall, Washington; Howard of Brooklyn, New York; Mrs. Lottie Thayer of Duvall, Washington; Mrs. Nellie Hayes of Duvall, Washington; Mrs. Anna Manning of Bridgeport, Nebraska. Oscar's wife died several years ago.

He moved from Bayard, Nebraska to Orin Junction, Wyoming in the year 1919. In 1920 he was again married to Mrs. Mary E. House. To this union three children were born, two of whom are living. Helen Maxine and Oscar Lynne.

Besides his widow and children, he leaves three brothers and one sister. They are Abe of Hannibal, Missouri; Rob of Peoria, Illinois; Dave of Duvall, Washington, and Mrs. Mary Cady of Shawnee, Wyoming.

His death occurred at his home near Orin, Wyoming on October 21, 1924 at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 29 days. Burial was made in the Douglas, Wyoming cemetery.
