Donald was born at home in a house on McConnell Road, just north of the turn up Birch Hill, Brandon, VT on the Arthur Goodnow Turkey Farm where Don's father was a manager. Donald grew up on the family farm in Starksboro and graduated from Bristol High School and then from Vermont Technical College in Randolph in 1963. Don was married on 30 May 1965 Bristol VT to Carol E., dau. of Chester & Ruth (Beers) JACOBS with his brother, John, officiating in the First Baptist Church, Bristol VT. Don served with the Air National Guard and was employed as a highway technician for the State of Vermont for 22 years. He was very active in the Williston Little League as a coach and league officer, and served as a fireman and police officer for the Town of Williston.

Both sides of the main monument are identical with only the word Burbank engraved. A separate headstone reads: Donald E. Burbank, 1943 - 1986
