Charlotte (Maxine) Irene Ackroyd, born Jan. 14, 1920, in Des Moines, Iowa, passed quietly on March 16, 2009, at her Arizona home. She was 89 years old. She spent the majority of her life in Nampa, Idaho with her husband and three children. Maxine was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she was adored by the many people whose lives she touched. In addition to being a devoted mother and an excellent cook, Maxine served in the Boise LDS Temple and spent many hours serving in the Relief Society. Maxine was known for her cheerful disposition and her sharp wit. She was quick to smile and a hard-working woman. She was fond of growing tomatoes and canning jams and peaches, which she readily shared with all. She frequently played cribbage and her skills were rarely challenged as she easily took down her opponents.

She is survived by her brothers, Murray and Kirk Bullock, along with her daughters, Sharon Ackroyd and Terry Stewart. Maxine's five grandchildren Mikel Hautzinger, Brooke Hautzinger, Jay Stewart, Tyler Stewart and Marti Stewart, along with her two great grandchildren, Noah Chapman and Raquel lsabella Solis will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her husband, AI and a son, Bob.

With the many challenges one endures throughout a lifetime, Maxine could be counted on to weather each trial with stoic grace and uncompromising integrity. She will be deeply missed. Graveside services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell, Idaho at 15862 S. Indiana Ave. on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 11 a.m.
