Arthur was a truck driver during his working life. He started his career delivering milk in Duluth with a horse and wagon. Prior to WWI he delivered milk for the Woodland Milk Company. He was overseas in WWI in army infantry in France when Marjorie was born. Arthur returned to Minnesota in June 1919 where he went to work for Bridgeman and Russell driving the first motorized milk delivery truck in Duluth. Arthur was sent down to Park Point with the motorized truck and told not to come back to work until he learned how to drive it. His wife died in March 1921 leaving Arthur with a six month old baby and a two year old to care for. The situation and finances forced Arthur to foster out Marjorie and Virginia. Margorie to Charles and Isabel Benson who lived out in the country; Virginia to the Tom and Carrie Olsen family who lived in the east end of town. Arthur took a street car then walked 3 miles to visit Marjorie. He didn't miss a week of visits. Visits to Virginia were easier as the street car line went directly to her foster home. During this time period Arthur roomed where he could in Duluth. The last 35 years of his working life Arthur drove truck for East End Dry Cleaners in Duluth.

Other Child:Marjorie Grace Rusdahl Mathison Bailey b. Nov 5, 1918 Duluth, MN.

Arthur married Edith Augusta Olson on May 17, 1930 and was able to reunite his family under one roof. Edith died August 1954.
