Daughter of Jacob and Susan Fretz. She moved to Livingston County, MO as a child and attended Livingston County rural schools. On September 24, 1891 she married George Hiram McDaneld in Avalon, MO. He died on June 26, 1955. They lived in the Avalon area until 1928 when they moved into Chillicothe.
They were the parents of seven children: Edna Walker, Alva James, Anna Howard, Mable Baker, Stlla Butterfield and George W McDaneld.
