A 1968 graduate of Camden High School, he attended Norfolk Virginia School of Music. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and played the baritone in the 282nd Army Band.
Mr. Dixon was an electrician by trade and formerly worked for DuPont and Wateree Textile. He also worked at White Pines Golf Course for 12 years. He was currently employed as an electrician with Invista and was a financial advisor with Primerica Financial Services.
Surviving are his parents of Lugoff; two daughters and sons-in-law, three brothers and three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Taylor; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David Dixon, Sr.; and brother, Jerry Dixon.
