Elinor Lois Grubb Eriksen, our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, received her eternal reward on Thursday, March 13, 2008.
Born on June 22, 1927, Elinor was one of 11 children born to M.T. and Betty Jane Grubb in Mathews County. She was a devoted member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she faithfully served her Lord in many capacities. She was a proud graduate of the 1947 class of Johnston-Willis School of Nursing, and the skills she learned provided a lifetime of comfort to countless family and friends.
Elinor's greatest joy in life was her family, and she treasured every moment shared with them. She will be cherished always by her sweetheart and husband of 60 years, Donald Eriksen of Foster; daughters, Betty Jane (Charles) Duncan of Gloucester Point, Donna (Carl) Curcio of Gloucester, Debbie Lunsford of Onemo, Teresa (Keith) Percic of Yorktown, and Tommy (Lorna) Eriksen of Foster. She was so proud of each of her 11 grandchildren, Erik (Teresa) Davis, Stephanie (Bobby Swords, Daniel (Elizabeth), Caleb, Samuel, and Rebekah Lunsford, Keith, Scott and Angie Percic, and Kaitlyn and Whitney Eriksen. Her legacy continues on with her four great-grandchildren, Jade Elinor and Sierra Margaret Davis, Amanda (Matt) Murphy, and Chase Taylor.
