Mrs. Edwards was born in Columbus on July 4, 1925, daughter of the late Samuel W. Beatty and Mary Jane Griffith Beatty. She has lived in Columbus all her life and was a member of Hamp Stephens United Methodist Church. She retired after 38 years from United Cities Gas Company (Atmos Energy) where she worked as a secretary in the sales department. She was a member of the Homemakers of Columbus, The Pilgrims and the Diplomat Club of Atmos Energy. Her husbands, Thomas J. Land and Francis M. Edwards preceded her in death.
Survivors include her three daughters, Marty Kinchen and her husband Ray of Woodstock, Ga., Barbara "Bobbie" Rhodes of Denver, Colo., Jane Sanders and her husband Wayne of Columbus; two sons, F. M. "Sonny" Edwards and his wife, Sue of Savannah, Ga., Michael Edwards of Atlanta, Ga.; and her companion, Robert K. Wait; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
