Albert R. "Tex" Brownlee

Born November 19, 1919 in Jacksboro, Texas and died January 19, 2008 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 88. Al was the youngest of 13 siblings. He was married for 61 years to Frances Jean Brownlee who predeceased him in 2001.

Al leaves behind with many memories son, Harry James Brownlee and wife Cecile; grandson, Jim Brownlee and wife Wendy; granddaughter Kimberly Wright; great-grandchildren Kamryn and Cullum Brownlee all of Dallas. One sister, Lennis Brandenburg of Jacksboro, Texas and Avin Brownlee of Dumas, Texas. Many nieces and nephews.

As a professional square dance caller, Al made many friends traveling around the nation with his wife Jean calling square dances. His calling records went Gold and Platinum and in 2007, he was officially recognized by The Texas Callers Hall of Fame.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday January 23, 2008 at 11:00am with visitation at 10:00am at the Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro, Texas. Contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
