Henry and Mary were married 17 November 1861 in Henry County, Iowa and Henry enlisted in Company D, Iowa 4th Cavalry Regiment on 25 Nobember 1861. He mustered out on 26 February 1862 at Mount Pleasant, Henry County, Iowa.
