Mrs. Mary Jane Blanton, 57, of 109 Lucas St., Piketon, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Howe Co. Funeral Home there with Rev. Willis Chaney officiating. Burial followed in the Givens Chapel Cemetery. Friends called at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. Saturday. Mrs. Blanton was found dead in bed at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Maggard at 108 Sunrise Ave., Waverly Gables addition, early Thursday morning, whom she was visiting. The Waverly Emergency Squad Unit responded to a call at 8:12 a.m., but she had already succumbed. Her death was attributed to a heart attack that had caused poor health for several years. A native of Pike County, she was born on July 2, 1918, the daughter of Charles & Nora Eblin Denny. Her husband, Golden Blanton, died in 1964. She was also predeceased by one son, Mack and a daughter, Georgia Mae Bobst. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Maggard, at whose home she died, Mrs. Margaret Grahm of Columbus, Mrs. Jane Beverlin of Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Melinda Payne, Waverly, Mrs. Frances Havens of Urbana, Mrs. Laurel Steppe of Piketon; 15 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Blanton was a member of the Piketon Church of Christ in Christian Union.
