Heber was born in England. He emigrated to the United States in 1869 and was naturalized in 1892. Heber married Hattie Margaret Cheney on 6 November 1889. They had seven children: Lola, Nina, Blanch O., Montice C., Lane A., Jean A., and Grant C. He worked as a farmer in Idaho and California, and a school janitor in Utah in his later years. Heber died in North Ogden, Utah and is buried there.
