Services for Elva T. Blanton, 60, of Piketon, who died Saturday night at Pike County Hospital are to be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Piketon Church of Christ in Christian Union, of which he was a member.
A native of Johnson County, Ky., he was a former custodian at Pike County Vocational School.
Surviving are his widow, Minnie arson Blanton; a son, Charles of Springfield; three daughters, Mrs. Alice Balestra and Mrs. Helen Jenkins, both of Piketon and Mrs. Betty Spriggs of Springfield; three sisters, Mrs. Shirley Hines of Piketon Rt.1, Mrs. Marlene Hartley of Piketon and Mrs. Marjorie Knauff of Columbus; and six grandchildren.
Rev. Willis Chaney and Rev. Harrison McCain are to officiate at the services, with interment in Piketon Mound Cemetery.

Uncle Elvie, also known as Preach was a son of Charley & Rose Edna Tackett Blanton. He was a comical uncle who loved to tease us when we stopped in to visit. I always enjoyed visiting their home in Piketon.
