Aunt Bessie was a daughter of Andrew Jackson & Melinda Jane Stafford Tackett, my second great grandparents. She was a sister to my great grandmother, Rose. Aunt Bessie first married Gratts McCarty 24 Oct 1913, s/o David Jessie "Big Dave" & Sarah "Anna" Blanton McCarty. Anna was a daughter of my 4th Great grandparents, James Henry & Mary Elizabeth Davis Blanton. Aunt Bessie & Gratts divorced. On 1st July 1916, Aunt Bessie married James Alexander "Leck" Blanton, son of James Alexander Washington & Laura Sturgill Blanton. This family was very musical. Mom said they enjoyed it when the families would get together & sing & play their guitar's.
