Lorie A. (Kabureck) Riggs, of Wellington, Kansas, died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Via Christi - St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 47.
Lorie was born the daughter of Floyd and Billie (Miller) Kabureck on Sunday, April 5, 1964 in Pacoima, California.
On November 15, 1984, Lorie and Scott Riggs were united in marriage. Although their marriage ended in 1996, the two remained close and loved each other for over 27 years.
She was a licensed LPN and spent most of her career working in nursing homes in Wellington and Clearwater.
Survivors include her former husband, Scott Riggs of Wellington, Kansas; sons, Cody Riggs and his wife Alicia of Wellington, Kansas, Jessie Riggs of Winfield, Kansas, Jarod Riggs of Wellington, Kansas; mother, Billie Kabureck; sisters, Terry Sizemore, Kathy Teague and her husband Marvin, Evelyn Rose; brothers, Roy Kabureck and Floyd Kabureck and sister, Penny Watts and her husband Ray all of Wellington, Kansas. She also had a large extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Kaburek and Jess Wright who was like a father to Lorie following her own father's death.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2011. Following visitation, cremation will take place.
Memorial services for Lorie will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at First Free Will Baptist Church, Wellington, Kansas.
Interment will follow at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Wellington, Kansas.
