Preston Cartwright
Preston Cartwright of Vestaburg, died yesterday at 7:10 a.m. in Brownsville General Hospital. He was 70.
He was born Oct. 5, 1904, in Sandy Ridge, Centre County, a son of William and Lydia Richards Cartwright.
He was a Presbyterian by faith, a retired coal miner for J&L Steel Corp., Vestaburg mine, a member of UMW 762, a social member of VFW of Vestaburg, and a social member of American Legion of Vestaburg.
Surviving are his widow, Anne Pararchines Cartwright; four daughters, Mrs. Dora Lipsky, Denbo Heights, Mrs. Blanche Geletei, Blainesburg, Mrs. Linda Hess, Denbo, Mrs. Barbara Bill, Grindstone; three sons, Robert and Charles, both of Cleveland, Ohio; and Preston, Venice, Calif., 26 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert Niccolai, Belle Vernon; one stepson, Richard Thot Charleroi; two stepgrandchildren; one brother, Roy, Williamsburg; two half-brothers, William and Roland, Cleveland; four half-sisters, Betty, Esther, Gladys, and Mary.
His first wife, Goldie, and one brother are deceased.
Friends will be received at the Frank Burkus Funeral Home, Millsboro, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 5 and
7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and Sunday.
